Install the agent (MSI) on a device

The agent is deployed via an MSI installer. This guide covers manual installation on one device. For mass deployment, see GPO and Intune.

1. Get the MSI​

The MSI is provided by the platform and is specific to your organization: it embeds the required configuration (server address and your tenant identification key). You therefore have no key to enter manually.

From the platform, open the agent management section and download your organization's MSI.

2. Install on the device​

On the device (with administrator rights), run the MSI:

  • By double-clicking the file, then following the wizard, or
  • from the command line (useful for scripting), silently:
msiexec /i LongLifeAgent.msi /qn

/qn installs with no interface. The agent installs as a Windows service (named "LongLife") that starts automatically.

3. Verify​

A few minutes after installation, the device appears in your fleet on the platform. You can also check locally that the "LongLife" service is running (services.msc).

Prerequisites
  • Windows (64-bit device).
  • Administrator rights for installation.
  • The device must be able to reach the LongLife server (outbound network / Internet access).
